Care for Elders
As a non-governmental organization working towards uplifting the marginalized communities in India, we recognize the immense value and wisdom that our elderly bring to our society. With the rapid changes in family structures and societal norms, it has become of utmost importance to focus on the care and support of our senior citizens. Our mission is to ensure that every elder feels valued, respected and cared for, at this age when they need us the most.

India is home to over 140 million elderly people, a large number of whom face significant and numerous challenges. The traditional joint family system, once a strong support system for seniors, is changing. Urban migration, change of lifestyle and economic pressure often leads to the neglect and isolation and the elderly. Health issues, financial instability and emotional loneliness are some examples of these challenges, creating a pressing need for essential care and support.

At DTG Foundation, we believes that caring for elders goes beyond just meeting their physical needs. We aim to foster a holistic approach that addresses their emotional, social and psychological well-being.
- Community Engagement:
We actively engage communities and programme specific initiatives to promote awareness about the importance of elder care. By organizing workshops and seminars, we educate families on the significance of respecting and caring for their elders.
- Home-Based Care Services
Our trained volunteers provide home-based care services to the senior citizens who may be bedridden or may require assistance with any kind of activities. This ensures that they receive medical care, companionship and emotional support at the comfort of their homes.
- Daycare Centres
We aim to operate daycare centres where elders can socialize, engage in activities and receive support from trained staff. These centres are designed to create a vibrant community atmosphere, promoting mental and emotional well-being.
- Financial Assistance and Counselling
Many elders face financial difficulties. We provide guidance and assistance in accessing government schemes and subsidies that can alleviate their financial burdens. Additionally, we offer counselling services to help them navigate emotional challenges.
- Advocacy and Policy Work
We advocate for the rights of the elderly at local and national levels. By collaborating with government bodies and other NGOs, we strive to influence policies that support elder care and protection.
- Empowering the Elderly
One of our core beliefs is that elders are not merely recipients of care, rather they are valuable contributors to society. We encourage their involvement in community activities, allowing them to share their skills, wisdom and experiences.
- Volunteer and Community Participation
Caring for our elders is not just the responsibility of NGOs; it requires collective action from society. We invite individuals and organizations to volunteer and contribute their time and resources to support our initiatives. Whether it's spending time with seniors, organizing activities, or providing financial support, every contribution towards this direction makes a lot of difference.
We remain committed to building a society where elders are valued, cherished and cared for. By instilling a culture of respect, love and dignity, we can foster a brighter future for our senior citizens. We call upon everyone in our goal to make sure that our elders feel valued, engaged and empowered, empowering them to live their golden age with grace and joy.
